Personalized Exercise Therapy for Pain Relief and Better Movement

If pain, weakness, stiffness, or limited mobility is making it harder to move comfortably, exercise therapy may be an important part of your recovery. At Kitsap Spine & Wellness, we provide personalized exercise therapy for patients in Silverdale, WA and surrounding Kitsap County communities who want to improve strength, restore movement, and support long-term function.

Exercise therapy focuses on helping your body move better through guided, targeted exercises. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, your care plan is based on your symptoms, movement patterns, physical limitations, and goals.

Our exercise therapy programs are designed to help reduce pain, improve mobility, build strength, and support better movement in everyday life.

What Is Exercise Therapy?

Exercise therapy is a conservative treatment approach that uses specific movements, stretches, strengthening exercises, and mobility work to help improve how the body functions. It may be used to support recovery after an injury, reduce pain, improve posture, correct movement imbalances, and help prevent recurring issues.

When the body is not moving properly, certain muscles may become tight, weak, overworked, or underactive. These imbalances can place extra stress on the spine, joints, and soft tissues. Exercise therapy helps address these problems by improving strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and movement control.

How Exercise Therapy Works

Exercise therapy begins with an evaluation of your symptoms, movement, posture, strength, flexibility, and functional goals. This helps your provider identify areas that may be contributing to pain, stiffness, instability, or limited mobility.

From there, your provider will recommend exercises designed specifically for your condition and ability level. These may include stretching, mobility drills, strengthening exercises, core stabilization, balance training, posture correction, or functional movement exercises.

As your body improves, your program may be adjusted to help you continue building strength, confidence, and better movement patterns.

Who May Benefit From Exercise Therapy?

Exercise therapy may be recommended for patients dealing with pain, injuries, weakness, poor posture, reduced mobility, or recurring movement problems. Every patient is different, which is why your care plan should be based on a detailed evaluation and your personal goals.

Exercise therapy may help patients experiencing:

Why Choose Exercise Therapy?

Pain relief is important, but long-term improvement often depends on helping the body move and function better. Exercise therapy is designed to address the movement patterns, weaknesses, and limitations that may contribute to ongoing discomfort.

At Kitsap Spine & Wellness, exercise therapy may be used as part of a larger care plan that includes chiropractic care, functional movement therapy, Trigenics, spinal decompression, laser therapy, or other conservative treatments. The goal is to help you recover, build strength, and reduce the chance of recurring problems.

Benefits of Exercise Therapy

  • Improved strength: Targeted exercises may help strengthen weak or underactive muscles.
  • Better mobility: Stretching and movement work may help improve flexibility and range of motion.
  • Pain reduction: Correcting movement problems may help reduce stress on joints, muscles, and nerves.
  • Improved posture: Exercise therapy may help address muscle imbalances that contribute to poor posture.
  • Better balance and stability: Training may help improve coordination, control, and confidence with movement.
  • Injury recovery support: Exercise therapy may help restore function after auto, work, sports, or everyday injuries.
  • Reduced risk of recurring issues: Strengthening and mobility work may help prevent the same problems from returning.
  • Personalized care: Your program is based on your condition, goals, and current ability level.

Exercise Therapy for Injury Recovery

Injuries can affect strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence. Even after pain begins to improve, the body may continue to compensate in ways that increase the risk of future problems.

Exercise therapy helps restore proper movement after injuries by rebuilding strength, improving mobility, and retraining the body to move more efficiently. Whether you are recovering from an auto accident, sports injury, work injury, or everyday strain, a personalized exercise plan may help support your recovery.

Exercise Therapy for Everyday Pain and Stiffness

Many patients deal with pain or stiffness caused by sitting, repetitive movements, poor posture, stress, or reduced activity. Over time, these daily habits can affect how the spine, muscles, and joints function.

Exercise therapy may help address these issues by improving flexibility, strengthening supportive muscles, and helping the body move with less strain. This can be especially helpful for people who want to feel better during work, exercise, sleep, and daily activities.

What to Expect During Your Visit

Your visit begins with a consultation and evaluation. Your provider will discuss your symptoms, review your health history, and assess how your body moves. This may include checking posture, strength, flexibility, balance, and range of motion.

If exercise therapy is recommended, you will be guided through specific exercises based on your condition and comfort level. Your provider will explain proper form, help you avoid movements that may aggravate your symptoms, and adjust your plan as you improve.

I have been a patient of Dr. Goodman for 5+ years. His expertise in the field of chiropractic care is unmatched in my opinion. I feel that his routine monthly adjustments are key to my overall great health. At age 69 I can keep up with people half my age. He also got me through a severe neck injury with complete recovery. Taya is his front office administrative assistant, and is an amazing asset to the practice. Very cordial, and professional. Kevin

I came to Dr. Goodman after my neck pain was getting severe to a point that I can’t get out of bed. Burning pain on my neck all the way to my arms and fingers. Doc was compassionate and listened to every aches and pain. The best part is his service and he is very personable. His office feels like a home/family and I didn’t feel like I’m just another number. He made sure that every treatment I get is comfortable. I address to him that spinal decompression and laser helped alleviate my pain. He cares for his patient and understands their pain as he has personal experience as well. He even offered to text him on weekends if the pain gets bad and if I’m in need of decompression & laser. Patients and Dr’s should have a good rapport. This makes care planning and communication successful. A good relationship to your Dr will provide a healing environment in itself. Thank you Dr. Goodman, Alexia and Taya! -Claire J-
